Three local courts in Duisburg
Three land registries, the district decides
In Duisburg three local courts keep the land register; which one is responsible depends on the property's district.
More about Duisburg (3)Show less
At the Amtsgericht Duisburg the land register is not in the main building at König-Heinrich-Platz 1 but in the branch office at Kardinal-Galen-Straße 124-132, 47058 Duisburg. The Amtsgericht Duisburg-Hamborn is at Duisburger Straße 220, 47166 Duisburg, the Amtsgericht Duisburg-Ruhrort at Amtsgerichtsstraße 36, 47119 Duisburg. If you do not know the office, Justiz NRW says you can find it in the directory of places and courts.
All three courts warn on their land registry pages about private online providers: their charges are often well above the official fee of 10 euros, and some lacked approval for automated retrieval, so no printout came despite payment. We retrieve nothing automatically and state our price openly.
Property boundaries are not in the land register; they are at the city's cadastre office. Entries or deletions usually only go through a notary.
Questions about the land register extract in Duisburg
Which local court is responsible for my land register in Duisburg?
That depends on the district. Innenstadt, Rheinhausen and Süd belong to the Amtsgericht Duisburg, whose land register is at the branch office Kardinal-Galen-Straße 124-132. Hamborn and Walsum belong to the Amtsgericht Duisburg-Hamborn, Meiderich-Beeck and Homberg/Ruhrort with Baerl to the Amtsgericht Duisburg-Ruhrort.
How do I get a land register extract in Duisburg?
With the land register printout form at the responsible land registry, in writing, by fax or in person with your ID card. You need a legitimate interest, e.g. as owner or with the owner's power of attorney. A simple printout costs 10 euros, an official one 20 euros; the invoice comes separately.
Are the local court and the land registry the same?
The land registry is a department of the local court. In Duisburg the Amtsgerichte Duisburg, Duisburg-Hamborn and Duisburg-Ruhrort each have their own land registry for their districts. In North Rhine-Westphalia the land register is kept only electronically, but the application goes to the court of the property.
Is an online land register extract trustworthy?
The Duisburg local courts warn about private online providers whose charges are often well above the official fee of 10 euros. Some lacked official approval for automated retrieval, and no printout came despite payment. We do not retrieve online; we submit a written application with your power of attorney for 49 euros including the fee.
I do not know the sheet number. Does it still work?
Give the exact address with district and, if known, Flur and parcel; these are in the purchase contract or on a cadastral map, for example. What matters is that the application goes to the right one of the three Duisburg land registries and your legitimate interest is proven, e.g. with a purchase contract, proof of inheritance or the owner's power of attorney.
What does the extract cost at a notary in Duisburg?
According to the Duisburg local courts, a printout handed over by a notary without comment costs 18 euros: 10 euros notary fee and 8 euros court expenses for the data retrieval. VAT and any postal or telecom expenses are added. At the land registry itself it is 10 or 20 euros.
