Land registry and cadastre: two offices in Köln
In Köln, the Grundbuchamt at the local court keeps the land register; its Bürgerservicestelle is at Reichenspergerplatz 1. The location, area and use of a property, on the other hand, are managed by the city of Köln in the real estate cadastre at Willy-Brandt-Platz 2 in Deutz.
More about Cologne (3)Show less
You can order the city's parcel and ownership certificate (Flurstücks- und Eigentumsnachweis) online; no visit is needed. According to the city, it shows the district, location, area, actual use, details of the type of entry and the entry itself, as well as the ownership. The city only releases ownership details if there is a legitimate interest.
If you want to buy a property and do not know the owner: on request, the city of Köln informs the owners in writing about your interest in buying, instead of giving out names.
According to the city, cadastral extracts cannot be ordered by phone. After an online order you pay on the basis of a fee notice; on site in cash or by Girocard.

How quickly will I get the land register extract?
The Amtsgericht Köln does not publish a processing time. After the written application, the extract comes by post, the fee invoice separately. Who may request a land register extract?

What do land register sheet and parcel mean?
The land register sheet (Grundbuchblatt) is the place in the land register where your property is recorded; the parcel (Flurstück) is the unit in the city's real estate cadastre. The city of Köln's parcel and ownership certificate shows the location, area and entry details. If you know neither, the address is enough for us.
