More about Münster (2)

The city asks parents of newborns not to order at first. The first set of certificates for child benefit, parental allowance and maternity aid is sent automatically. For pension insurance and the child benefit application the certificate is free of charge anyway. However, the Bezirksregierung Münster only certifies certificates for abroad without a note such as «only for child benefit».

The registry office keeps birth registers of the last 110 years. Older registers and those of the registry offices incorporated in 1975 are in the Stadtarchiv Münster, which sends copies from them. The multilingual certificate under the Vienna CIEC Convention needs no apostille in states such as Poland, Turkey or the Netherlands.
