  • Submit the completed form yourself at the Versorgungsamt in Dortmund, Untere Brinkstraße 80, 44141 Dortmund, or by email to versorgungsamt@stadtdo.de.
  • Or online via ELSA.NRW, the portal of the Bezirksregierung Münster, where the application for assessment is made digitally.
  • Enclose existing findings, reports or lab values not older than two years right away; the Versorgungsamt requests missing documents from the doctors you name.

Dortmund handles Bochum applications

One office for three cities

Bochum has no Versorgungsamt of its own. According to the City of Bochum, the joint Versorgungsamt of Dortmund, Bochum and Hagen handles all Bochum applications, and the completed form is submitted at the Versorgungsamt in Dortmund. The citizens' offices in Bochum only hand out the form.

More about Bochum (3)

In person, the office at Untere Brinkstraße 80 receives visitors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 11. If you do not know your contact person, dial the number for the first letter of your surname, for example 0231 50-27815 for A to Gj.

A degree of disability is assessed in steps of ten from 20 to 100; a person counts as severely disabled from a degree of 50. Only then is the card issued on request.

For follow-up benefits Bochum refers to other bodies: the Beitragsservice in Cologne decides on exemption from the broadcasting fee, and you apply for the parking permit separately with the city.

Not in Bochum itself, but at the joint Versorgungsamt of Dortmund, Bochum and Hagen, Untere Brinkstraße 80 in 44141 Dortmund. You get the form in the Bochum citizens' offices or as a PDF from the Versorgungsamt. Online you apply via ELSA.NRW of the Bezirksregierung Münster.

What does the disability card cost in Bochum?

Nothing. The City of Bochum states that issue, extension or change cost nothing. You only pay if you get help filling in: with us, filling in and submitting costs 59 euros. Only the Versorgungsamt decides on the degree of disability.

Can I apply online?

Yes, via ELSA.NRW, the portal of the Bezirksregierung Münster, for first and change applications. The City of Bochum links to it on its disability card page. How long is the card valid and when do I extend it?

The disability card is issued for at most five years, without time limit only if no significant change in health is expected. The Versorgungsamt advises thinking about extension about three months before expiry. There is a separate form for this, and a new card is issued.
